We are doing a limited number of CSA chicken shares this year. Full share gets you 12 whole chickens from May to October. Half gets you 6 whole chickens. Parted out chickens is an option, as well as heritage breed chickens.
Why do a Community Supported Agriculture Share?- By signing up for a share of our harvest this year, you are supporting a small farm and people you know in your community. You in return are getting pasture raised meat at a lower price than it will be offered for sale later in the season.
What you’ll be getting- Broiler chickens are what you normally see in the grocery store. They are normally grown commercially in factory farms, indoors. They will be grown on pasture, rotated weekly. Grown how chicken should be, on grass and eating bugs. Processed birds will range 4-6 lbs
When- The CSA will run from May-October. Full share is 2 chickens a month, half is 1 chicken a month. We’ll be closing signup when we reach our limit or by March 1st.
How- At this time we only require at least half deposit to signup, the rest is due at your first pickup in May.
Where- We will be doing dropoffs in- New Bern, Little Washington, Greenville and we’re open to other areas within reason.
If you want to come see how your food is grown, just ask to come visit. We’ll have a couple events this year. But a few just for our CSA members.
Parted out chicken is offered at a additional 4$ a bird. Let us know the week of pickup if you’d prefer a parted out bird that week. Pay at pick up.
