Our Lands Story

Helen and Buddy Harrell

Originally Bennett Vineyards, before that the Bennett’s ran the land as a Tobacco farm. The Vineyard was started around 1989.

Our Animals

Pasture Raised Chicken

Our chicks arrive at the farm the day after hatching and are kept in a brooder with supplemental heat until about 2 weeks old. They are then moved to the pasture in mobile, open floored pens that are moved daily to a fresh patch to give them access to insects and green forage. The open floored pen allows natural foraging all while providing them with shelter from inclement weather, shade, and protection from predators. They are fed a 19% protein (free choice) grain ration that is non-medicated and non-GMO.
